Project Details

The project focused on the study and development of a new system of titanium-based alloys (Ti-Mo-Zr-Ta-Nb) for use in medical applications. The optimal concentrations of the chemical elements correlated with the specialized literature were established (4 recipes), followed by: optical, electronic microstructural analysis and X-ray diffraction of the formed compounds and their influence in the metal mass; mechanical determinations (Young’s modulus, hardness) and electrochemical behavior in simulated biological environments in order to study the corrosion rate.
